Community Edition
Findmypast.co.uk has launched a new service for libraries, family history societies, research centres and archives: the Community Edition. We have specially tailored this service to meet the needs of these centres.
How will the Community Edition benefit my centre?
- For the first time, enjoy inclusive access to the 1911 census. The 1911 census is the most detailed census ever produced: 16 million full colour scanned images of the original forms completed by each householder and a gateway to the past for newcomers to family history.
- Log-in based on recognising the IP address(es) that each centre uses, freeing up users from managing usernames and passwords.
- A brand new reporting and administration tool that allows centres to see just how much their subscription is being used.
- A pricing model that is consistent with the Digital Library Licensing Service bandings. This will allow each centre to easily compare the value it receives from findmypast.co.uk with other digital resources.
- Cost certainty: a fixed price for a fixed term. Centres can also expand their number of users at no extra charge, for example, to run a training session for newcomers to family history.
The Community Edition allows centres and their users to search around 750 million records - many of these records are exclusive to findmypast.co.uk
