Bishop's Transcripts 1576-1905

This annual series of transcripts of baptisms, marriages and burial entries was sent from the local parish authorities to the Diocesan authorities in Chester.

They do not survive for every year and every parish, and very few transcripts exist after 1900.

They cover the Diocese of Chester which comprises the historic County of Cheshire in its pre-1974 boundaries.
