9. Specialist records

‘Specialist records’ contains small collections of records that include occupation and business directories, hospital admissions and discharges, court sessions and poor-house reports.

Each collection may cover only a small area or a select number of people, but if your ancestor is listed, then you might find the kind of information that helps to flesh out the minutiae of someone’s life.

‘Other Records 1320-1996’, which is within the ‘Specialist records’ section, is a collection of rare and unusual records. Simply select the type of record you want to search for from the drop-down list, or select ‘All’ to search the entire collection.
