Which types of vouchers are available and how much do they cost?

  • £5 (40 credits) valid for 90 days (can be used on findmypast.co.uk and 1911census.co.uk)
  • £50 for a three month findmypast.co.uk Full subscription (includes access to the 1911 census)
  • £150 for a 12 month Full subscription (includes access to the 1911 census)
Please note that the type of vouchers offered will vary between stockists.

Where can I purchase individual vouchers?

Libraries, family history societies and archives in various locations, in the UK and abroad, stock findmypast.co.uk vouchers. View a full list of stockists.

Can I buy vouchers directly from findmypast.co.uk?

You can only buy vouchers direct from findmypast.co.uk if you are or intend to become a voucher stockist. The minimum order value for purchasing vouchers from findmypast.co.uk is £100. If you are not a stockist, or wish to spend less than £100, you should buy your voucher(s) from one of our stockists. View a full list of stockists.

Do the voucher prices include VAT? Do prices for non UK customers include VAT?

Yes, the voucher prices include VAT. Our prices do not vary with the VAT status of the customer.

What payment methods can I use to buy vouchers? 

The payment methods accepted may vary between stockists, although most of our stockists accept cheque and credit/debit card payments.

How do I activate vouchers?

If you haven’t already done so, please register an account, or sign-in if you are already a customer. Once you’ve registered (or signed in to your account) you will be taken to the homepage.

  • Click 'activate voucher', beneath ‘payment options’, near the bottom-left of the homepage.
  • On the next page enter the voucher code from the scratch-off panel on the back of the voucher, and key in the confirmation code from the onscreen image.
  • Once you’ve entered the voucher and confirmation codes, simply click ‘submit’ to activate the voucher. The relevant number of credits or subscription will then be credited to your account.

I haven’t got an email address or a computer. Can I use still use your vouchers?

Once you’ve registered with findmypast.co.uk you can use vouchers at any computer with an internet connection – for example, at your local library. If you don't have an email address you can register a username instead.

Can I get a refund on my voucher?

If your voucher is unopened and the scratch-off panel intact, a refund may be issued, at the discretion of the stockist. If the voucher packaging or scratch-off panel is damaged in any way, you will not be eligible for a refund. Findmypast.co.uk does not refund customer vouchers. If you wish to claim a refund you should contact the stockist that sold you the voucher.

Stockist FAQs

How do I order vouchers? What payment methods can I use? 

The minimum order value for stockists is £100.

You can either email us your completed order form, or post it to:

We accept payment by cheque, credit/debit card, or BACS.

How much is postage and packing?

There is a charge of £4 within the UK, £5 for the rest of Europe, and £8 for the rest of the world added to each order, regardless of value, to cover postage and packing.

Are there any discounts for bulk purchases of vouchers?

We offer a 10% discount on orders from £100-£499; 15% on orders from £500-£999; and 20% on orders over £1,000.

How quickly will my voucher order arrive?

We aim to despatch your order within seven days of receiving it, but please allow up to 28 days for delivery. If for any reason your order is going to take more than 28 days to fulfil, we will contact you and give you the option of cancelling and obtaining a refund

I am a stockist and I've bought too many vouchers. Can I get a refund?

We will refund vouchers sold to stockists if their packaging and scratch-off panels are intact, as long as the total value is £50 or more. You will receive a refund based on the pro-rata value of your lowest discount order, less a handling charge of £10 per order.
