Last name:
You must enter a last name in order to search.
If you're unsure about the spelling of a last name then there are two search options that may help:
- Wildcards. You can enter a '*' character to indicate any sequence of characters. You must enter at least 3 characters before the '*'. For example, entering a last name of 'LANCAS*' might return last names like LANCASHIRE and LANCASTER.
- Variants. By ticking the include variants box, the search will return variations or common misspellings of the last name in the results. For example, a last name of 'TAYLOR' with variants will return results for last names like TAYLER and TAILOR as well as TAYLOR.
First name:
Optionally, you can enter a first name to reduce the number of results returned.
As with last names, you can use wildcards or variants to expand the number of results returned.
You can also enter a single letter to signify an initial. For example, entering just 'J' will have the same effect as entering 'J*' and
will return names such as JAMES, JOHN, and JONATHAN.
