British armed forces overseas
This table shows the whereabouts of the British armed forces overseas at the time of the 1921 Census of England & Wales on 19th June 1921.
A special section of the 1921 Census is devoted to the armed forces overseas. There are 35 pieces (volumes) in archive series RG 15 for the Army overseas, 11 pieces for the Royal Navy and one piece for the Royal Air Force. Those for the Army and the Navy are grouped geographically.
The places in the table below are spelt as per the original document; modern place names may vary.
