Catholic Family History Society

The Catholic Family History Society was founded to focus on national Catholic archives, the Church's history and those with Catholic family history interests.

The society has regular meetings in Altrincham, Cheshire and Shotley Bridge, County Durham. It also holds an annual day conference with its AGM each October.

The society produces its 'Catholic Ancestor' journal for members and is active in producing occasional publications which include Manchester baptisms and other Catholic registers which are available on CD.

The Catholic Central Library at Farnborough holds copies of the society's register transcripts which are on open access and freely available to visitors.

More information about the society can be obtained via their website.

Catholic Family History Society contributed to the National Burial Index. These records are available as part of the Findmypast Plus or Pro subscription.
