Introducing Hints from Findmypast
As you build your family tree, Hints can help you discover new ancestors and find out more about those you already have on your tree.
How do Hints work?
Once you add to or edit your family tree, Hints will sift through millions of our records to identify potential matches to the people on your tree. You'll be presented with historical records for ancestors already on your family tree, which, in turn, can introduce you to relatives you've yet to uncover from our collections.
Look out for orange Hints icons in your tree and simply click or tap them to review the information we've found on your ancestors. From there, it's easy to accept or reject your hints and add all of the record details directly onto your family tree if you wish.
Watch our short introductory video to see how Findmypast's Hints work, and find all the information you need to get started.
