Coventry Archives aims to ensure that archives relating to the rich and historic city of Coventry are preserved as part of the city's heritage. The records archive and local history centre is located in the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum.

Thanks to our partnership with Coventry Archives, you can now delve in to a wealth of fascinating records including bomb damage schedules, records of German air raids and workhouse admission and discharge records.

Bomb Damage Schedules & German Air Raid records

The Coventry Blitz was the single most concentrated attack on a British city during the Second World War. Explore the Coventry Bomb Damage Schedules to discover the damage that was inflicted on your ancestors' homes and their surrounding area.

Was your ancestor or their neighbours one of the casualties of the German air raids on Coventry? Our collection of German Air Raid records highlight the casualties in the area. These records will also reveal your ancestor's address, where they were treated and the nature of the casualty.

Coventry Workhouse Admission and Discharge Registers 1853-1946

Did your Coventry based ancestor fall on hard times and end up in the workhouse? Workhouses accommodated the elderly, infirm, orphans, mentally ill, and single mothers. Coventry Archives have also contributed to our British Rolls of Honour and Nominal Rolls (WW1) collection and to records of Warwickshire burials.
